Since 1973, The Energy Daily has kept its readers at the forefront of major developments in the energy industry. The Energy Daily's annual leadership awards reflect nominations from industry and the views of our editors and other industry experts on the most influential executives and companies each year. This year, The Energy Daily, joined by its sister publication Clean Energy Daily, will select leaders in these following categories:

Corporate Leadership 

Nominees will need to demonstrate that they have incorporated innovation into future corporate strategy, reorganized internal structure to promote efficiency and taken on a leadership role in a community outreach effort.

Public Policy Award

Nominees must have been a leading force in the development of a policy, been actively involved at the Congressional, Federal or regulatory level.

Most Innovative Technology

Nominees will show how they have integrated a revolutionary technology to promote efficiency and reduce costs.

Most Dynamic Energy Practice

Law firms who spearheaded a large effort will need to detail their involvement and explain how their representation, expertise and guidance assisted in the conclusion of the issue. 

Most Innovative Campaign

Recognizing a consulting/communications or PR firm or executive who designed a powerful and successful energy campaign. 

Most Successful New Energy Startup Company

Celebrating a new energy company launched in 2008 or beyond, with a notable achievement.

Nominations will need to be submitted in writing and include a 500 word letter detailing the qualifications and mentioning the outlining factors to be reviewed by our judges.  In addition, submissions must include supporting documents on the person or effort being nominated. In the event the nomination is not submitted by the person or company being nominated, the nominating party must divulge its identity and affiliation.  Materials submitted will not be returned. Entering The Energy Daily's Leadership Awards Program


Who Should Enter?
Any corporation, agency, association, governmental agency, nonprofit or individual is eligible to enter The Energy Daily’s 2009 Awards.

Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible, the campaign must have taken place (either in part or in full) between January 1, 2008, and December 1, 2009.

How to Enter

Follow the instructions on the entry form and email or mail with your entry.

Compiling Your Entry

The following information must be listed on your synopsis:
o Category or categories entered
o Title of entry (as it would appear on your award)
o Team members (on campaign)
o Key contact for entry
o Organization submitting entry

Your Written Entry

Within your synopsis (approximately 500 words), please describe your campaign and include mention of notions such as Objectives; Strategy; Tactics; Execution; and, Results.
Though not necessary to include, supporting materials can show evidence of the success of your work, such as sales figures, press releases and media coverage, and testimonials.

What to Send?

If entering by email (send to elengermann@accessintel.com), include the completed entry form (filled out and scanned, or with the same information as a text document); your synopsis; and supporting materials, if you would like; and, how you will be paying.  We accept credit cards and checks.

If entering by mail, send two (2) copies of your entry form, two (2) copies of your synopsis, six (6) sets of any supporting materials (though not necessary), and the entry fee.

Deadlines/Entry Fees

Deadline: Thursday, December 10, 2009 (postmarked)
Late Deadline: Thursday, December 24, 2009 (postmarked)
Please add a $50 late fee per entry for entries postmarked or emailed between December 10, 2009 and December 24, 2009. Entry Fees

The price of each primary entry is $150. If you submit the same entry into multiple categories, the additional fee is $100 per category. Late entry surcharge of $50 per entry. Payment in full must accompany the entry. Entry fees are not refundable.

How are the entries judged?

Entries are judged by a blue-chip panel of corporate, nonprofit and editorial executives, including the editors of The Energy Daily and Clean Energy Direct.

How do I increase my chances of winning an award?

Emphasize the goals and achievements of your campaign in your synopsis. Provide specific examples of innovation, planning and success. You are welcome to enter several categories at an entry fee of $100 for each additional category.

When will I be notified about the status of my entry?
You will be contacted by The Energy Daily staff regarding the status of your entry online if you are named a finalist in the awards program. Finalists are notified in early January. The winners will be announced in The Energy Daily Awards Issue in January.
