SAN MATEO, Calif., Nov. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- eMeter, a global leader in
clean energy technology, announced today that Itron, a leader in Advanced
Metering Infrastructure (AMI) solutions has joined its IntegratedMDM SM
Program.
"The purpose of eMeter's IntegratedMDM Program is to foster closer
cooperation and interoperability between eMeter's EnergyIP(TM), the leading
independent Meter Data Management (MDM) System, and leading AMI technologies,"
said Larsh Johnson, eMeter CTO. "With the capabilities of AMI systems evolving
so rapidly, this program is designed to provide utilities with assurance that
if they select a participating AMI technology, the technology will operate
with the EnergyIP MDMS now and in the future. Utilities selecting AMI
solutions can be fully confident that our products will work well together and
meet or exceed performance requirements. "
This program formalizes the long-term working relationship that eMeter has
enjoyed with Itron. Under the program, each of the AMI companies independently
agreed to cooperate in the integration of their AMI technology with the
EnergyIP software. The eMeter IntegratedMDM program consists of the following
elements:
1) Interoperability. Enabling eMeter's MDM to interoperate with the
participating AMI technologies.
2) Independence of MDM and AMI Systems. Creating open, independent MDM
that allows utilities to select from the participant's offerings now and in
the future.
3) Integration Planning. On-going development cooperation and release
planning between eMeter and the AMI companies covering existing and future
functionality.
"Itron is pleased to be a member of the eMeter IntegratedMDM program and
believes that interoperability between EnergyIP and OpenWay is beneficial to
our shared customer base -- today and tomorrow," said Kip Gering, OpenWay
Product Manager. "eMeter's IntegratedMDM Program allows EnergyIP and OpenWay
to complement our present and future feature set ensuring that our customers
get full value of our AMI solution."
Itron joins Iskrameco, Silverspring Networks, Current Technologies, EDMI,
Eka Systems, Elster, Landis+Gyr, Sensus and Trilliant as the newest member of
the IntegratedMDM program. eMeter developed EnergyIP specifically to support
the installation, operation, and management of AMI systems and the data they
generate. eMeter's software is the leading multi-vendor AMI integration
platform built upon an open Service Oriented Architecture incorporating
real-time messaging technology. EnergyIP supports a wide range of growing
Smart Grid functions, ranging from interval metering to Home Area Networks
